    If it was not for the one huge downside I would say that this is a fabulous hotel, at a great price in an amazing location for getting to Hong Kong. The receptionists are lovely and the facilities are great. However, the swimming pool insists everyone wears a hat and will very rudely tell you in Chinese that you can not use it if you dont have one. Their explanation is that hair clogs up drains but other hotels dont apply such rules. The need for a hat really should be put on their hotel advert as without letting the customer know about this rule it isnt acceptable and can be seen as mis-selling. All the customers I met hated this rule too and I would urge the manager to change this rule as hotel customers shouldnt be forced into buying hats.But if they insist on keeping it please can you advertise this rule so customers can consider it before they book. A shame because it was an extremely nice pool, apart from that rule.

    hotel location is very good. main entrance hall at the ground floor reserve a very large area for tea and coffee customers to sit, you pay for drinks when enter. only about several seats available at one of the small corner for free if you would like to meet your friends over there. main gate entrance steps are slippery, it will be much better if covered with carpets. the dim-sum restaurant on the first floor serves good food, average costs US15.- per head. plenty bell boys available almost all the time, carrying large bags is not a problem.

    This is my first choice hotel. It is handy to the Luo Hu border control point (about 500 metres). It is an easy level walk to the border control point. The staff are very friendly and always ready to help with luggage, directions etc. Most of them speak English.

    Staff was really helpful, kind, patient. Despite the heat, we felt cold (we werent feeling well), and when the aircon system didnt spit out enough heat, they provided an additional heater immediately. They even offered to make us ginger soup to get well. When we needed a taxi, they called one and when it came late, they explained patiently why it is better to wait for the taxi they ordered than try to find one on the street since the hotel is in an area where there arent so many taxis. Food was great, breakfast had all the stuff westerners (and others) like, and they served fresh ground coffee. The small shop has a wide variety of goodies (though expensive) and is open in the evenings, too. Rooms and facilities were clean and the room didnt smell of smoke at all.The whole hotel looks neat including from the outside (kind of European looking).
